REALTEK HD AUDIO OUTPUT DRIVER WINDOWS 10
I’m running Windows 10 and haven’t been able to get it running since I put this machine together. Select and look for ‘sound, video and game controllers’. Begin by typing ‘Device Manager’ into the taskbar. I don’t have anything for Realtek in the System Tray. Another foolproof approach to solving the Realtek HD audio manager’s typical problem is updating the PC’s audio drivers. I see a DTSAudio Svc running in Services. I do have Realtek High Definition Audio in my Device Manager. Please leave a reply if it works for you.Įdited JM - clarified.put solution in 1st line and separated the detail for those who might want it.I tried everything you’ve outlined and still cannot get it running.

I hope this Very Simple Solution works for others. It may be necessary to disconnect the headphones, restart and then reconnect them following an update, again time will tell. I have not seen any Microsoft Updates take place since I discovered this cure / workaround. It is quite possible that not all of these precise steps are needed to get headphones to work, but this can be explored in due course. I have repeated this to make sure the fault happens if the headphones are left plugged in and the computer restarted, and that the fault goes away after removing them, shutting down (total shutdown) and then restarting, only plugging them in once Windowsġ0 has finished starting up. I then did the following steps:-ġ Unplug the headphone jack plug with the computer still running.Ģ Shut the computer down (total shutdown). I checked all the obvious setting and nothing sound related had changed in Device Manager. When I restarted my laptop with the headphones still plugged in they no longer worked. Today my headphones stopped working after I put my Laptop into sleep mode with the headphones still plugged in. Re plug only when Windows 10 has finished starting up. Leaving them plugged in during shutdown and restart results in headphones not working. Unpluuged at shutdown and replugged only after Windows 10 has fully restarted then the headphones continue to work. Also highlights yesterdays important discovery that if my headphones are

It such a common problem I hope it is looked into soon.Įdited by JM - Driver screenshot corrected. I2S Stereo DAC breakout is a perfect match for any I2S-output audio interface. I have published the above information in the hope that it helps someone else and so that MS Techs can see it. Weve got up to date version of Download driver realtek i2s audio codec. ( My Laptop is a 2014 Novatech with 16GB RAM Quad processor and 1TB Sata hard drive running genuine Win 10 from MS and genuine license.) This screenshot shows my HD driver information in device manager which I can see now is actually a I am following the video instruction on this site. At present I can only put one screenshot into a post at a time. Still struggling with adding images to posts. Headphones are still working correctly, (Headphones are now being unplugged at computer shutdown and replugged only after Win10 completely restarted). More from John McLellan continuing from the above posts. I intend to post screenshots from Device Manager showing the working configuration.Įdited by JM (see also new findings regarding unplugging headphones before starting computer). Maybe running the troubleshooter "Troubleshoop Sound Problems" and it may need more than one restart in order for MS updates to complete. Seankeen's simple cure appears to work for me, it may need to be repeated after applying MS updates (time will tell).

Further restarts appeared to complete the update and the headphones started to work again.

This particular problem seemed to be that a (Features) windows update had not completed fully and some of the sound software was only partially updated. I use headphones toĪvoid disturbing others and they are important.

MS Helpline seemed unaware of this problem despite the hundreds of posts on this subject. I continued to work on the problem myself. I contacted MS help, they told me my laptop had a hardware fault and I should contact my PC supplier.
